On January 23, 2014 the GPSA together with Making All Voices Count (MAVC) and the Transparency and Accountability Initiative (TAI) organized a Social Accountability Research Workshop.

The workshop brought together academics and CSOs who carry out research on Social Accountability. The purpose was to share their insights on current and upcoming research themes and initiatives, to see where the gaps are, and to plan together a future research agenda for social accountability.

The event was led by Professor Jonathan Fox from American University and John Gaventa, Head of Research in IDS. Participants joined from Columbia University, Brandeis University, George Mason University, Johns Hopkins University, MIT and ODI, among others. CSOs involved include CARE International, Open Society Foundations, the Results for Development Institute and World Vision.
