Social Accountability for Peace-Building Partnership

These Projects will leverage the World Bank Group's IDA18 investments to support capacity development for effective and collaborative citizen engagement. Building on the GPSA's experience, the Project will explore what type of approaches are most effective for capacity development in participatory, collaborative processes that bring together governments and civil society organizations for improving service delivery. Through tailored capacity development, knowledge and learning activities, the Project will facilitate the engagement of CSOs and governments through exchanges of information, agreements to co-organize joint trainings and collaboration on the ground for feedback gathering and problem-solving. This 12-month pilot will be implemented in an initial group of four countries (Nepal, Tajikistan, Niger and Guinea), with the support of the Bank's State and Peacebuilding Fund (SPF). Lessons from this experience are expected to inform subsequent GPSA support in these and other countries.
