Let’s be honest- measuring impact is hard. Systems are complicated, timeframes are short and politics are messy. Too often our understanding of success in the transparency and accountability space is based on tenuous linkages between our own outputs and outcomes, and not nearly enough on how citizens judge changes in their own lives, or how much we are learning.

The Accountability Lab has just launched its latest Impact Report and while it is a start, we know we can improve how we think about measurement. There is some important thinking emerging around these issues in our community and with our friends at Feedback Labs we want to explore this further.

So come along and listen in to where we are when it comes to measuring impact; hear more about alternative approaches to monitoring; and brainstorm on how we can use the discussion around impact to meaningfully learn and improve our collective work on transparency and accountability.

The discussion will include practitioners, funders, civil society groups and donors.
