Europe & Central Asia (ECA) Regional Forum

Together with the Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA) and the World Bank's Water Partnership Program (WPP), Oxfam is organizing the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) Forum on Social Accountability in the water sector.
Global, regional and national networks are becoming an increasingly important vehicle for disseminating new models for citizen based monitoring mechanisms, technologies, building capacity and exchanging experience. Examples of such networks can be found in Tajikistan in the case of improving drinking water and sanitation subsector, where the government, academia and civil society working together to improve the access to safe drinking water and sanitation through policy dialogue, promotion of cost effective models for rural WSS and improving social accountability in the subsector. Oxfam has been the main knowledge broker and facilitator of this process in Tajikistan through its WASH program.
GPSA grantee and non-grantee CSOs and government counterparts from ECA countries are invited to attend this regional event, including but not limited to: Kyrgyz Republic, Georgia, Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine. In total, 75 participants are expected to take part in the Forum. The Forum will be facilitated by experts in the relevant fields from Oxfam, the World Bank and external consultants representing diversity of experience in the sectors.
