The GPSA is pleased to announce the addition of four members to its Steering Committee. The Steering Committee is the GPSA’s decision-making body, chaired by the World Bank with balanced representation among civil society organizations (CSOs), donors and governments. Members are rotated in a staggered manner every three years.
These new members bring tremendous value, expertise and experience in the social accountability field. For the donor constituency, the GPSA welcomes Dr. David Yang from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)’s Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance, and Aleem Walji, Chief Executive Officer of the Aga Khan Foundation USA. For the government constituency, Ximena Puente de la Mora, President Commissioner of the Federal Institute for Access to Information and Data Protection in Mexico, and Eva Mends from the Ministry of Finance in Ghana will now join. CSO members are nominated through regional CSO networks and selected by a GPSA Steering Committee subpanel. Gopa Thampi, Director of Economic Governance – Sri Lanka, The Asia Foundation, was selected from a pool of exceptional candidates. You can learn more about the GPSA Steering Committee in the GPSA Board Paper and view the complete list of Steering Committee members here.
